Local Community Groups worked together to successfully raise funds to develop the Community Centre for the people of South Kirkby in West Yorkshire after consultation identified that there was a need for such a facility. |
| The Centre is a Registered Charity and is managed by a community based Management Committee. The Management Committee is made uo of centre users, local residents and church representatives. The day to day running of the centre is managed by three part time staff – an administrator, a caretaker and a cleaner. |
The following groups contributed financially to the refurbishment of the Centre and to the initial running costs:
- Big Lottery Fund
- European Regional Development Fund
- Coalfield Regeneration Trust
- Church Urban Fund
|
| The ultimate aim is that the centre can generate sufficient revenue to become self supporting. The support of everyone in the South Kirkby community will be needed if this is to be achieved. |
